YouthLab Providing Exposure to STEM

Welcome to Youth Lab!

Youth Lab is powered by Uplift, Inc. - a 501c3 nonprofit organization in Washington, DC and Newark, NJ. Beginning in 2003 and growing in all directions, Youth Lab became all that it is today - an informal, out-of-school-time educational program for youth between the ages of 8-18. It is a safe space where students learn, explore, experiment, apply, and share STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) skills and experiences. Within the last two years, Youth Lab has extended its reach to the arts as well and will soon offer drawing and film courses.

Current programs include computer classes, instruction in lego mindstorm robotics, and curriculum development. Every aspect of Youth Lab also has a research component spearheaded by Uplift's Center for Learning and Educational Media (CLEM). Today, Youth Lab helped judge the 3rd & 4th grade Science Fair at Watkins Elementary School in Washington, DC. We had a ball and enjoyed spending time with some amazing budding scientists. We wish everyone much success at the larger science fair over the summer.
